"The Wildflower", is a luxury jungle resort at the edge of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, sharing boundaries with the core area of the park. The resort has a picture-perfect setting with hills clad in greens cocooning the extensively landscaped property.
The resort is just a few minutes' drive (3 km) away from the Tala Gate (main park entrance), but is secluded enough to ensure that you can enjoy the serenity and sounds of the jungle. The epicurean suites with hand-crafted Queen Anne's design furniture, luxurious bathrooms and private gardens are in perfect contrast to the ruggedness of the jungle. ...
Wildflower Resort
We planned our trip to Bandhavgarh and Khajuraho after our friends visited and the way they narrated their experience was really tempting. They told us that during the summer and rainy seasons both of these places get less tourists and hence very good and expensive hotels can be booked at great discounts. While we were finalizing our hotel they suggested us Taj Chandela at Khajuraho and The Wildflower Resort at Bandhavgarh National Park. We were sure for the Chandela as it was a Taj hotel but were a little doubtful for The Wildflower Resort, however on our friends insistence and after reading the reviews we went ahead and booked it for stay . The hotel booking was made by us through their website where they had a booking engine installed offering a very good deal whereas we booked our safari permits online at mponline.nic.in. The wildflower people promptly assisted us in getting the jeep and guide for Jungle safari ie Jeep Safari. Our taxi arrangement was also made by them. We reached Umaria railway station by kalinga Utkal Express from Delhi and found the cab waiting for us.
By about 6:00 Am we entered the territory of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. It was a beautiful morning and the forest was lush green and wet due to rains which had just stopped some time back. En route we spotted sambar deer, barking deer and several chitals (Spotted deer) together with several species of birds. We reached the wild flower resort by 6:30 Am and found Mr. Sharma (Manager) to be waiting for us. We were served with hot ginger flavored tea as welcome drink and were smoothly checked in.
We were on a all meals inclusive plan. We however were hungry and did not feel like waiting for the regular buffet breakfast time. On our asking they promptly served breakfast of our choice at 8:00 AM after which we headed to our rooms to relax. Although the drizzle made us change our minds and by 11:00 AM we were enjoying the drizzle in swimming pool. You can take my word, the experience was one of the most romantic ones in my whole life.
Booking the wildflower was the right decision. From their sales persons to resort management everything is perfect . The location of the resort is great, surrounded by forest and hills and plains. The service was upto the mark, food was delicious. We stayed in suite no 1, definitely luxurious and tastefully furnished.
Although the prime intention was to spend some good time enjoying and relaxing but were also hoping to see the Royal Bengal Tiger in wild. Our Safari experience was fantastic. Spotted a male tiger on our first drive (Tala Zone) and were really lucky on our second drive again when we saw a tigress with cubs (Magdhi Zone). Both of our safaris were during the mornings. We went for nature walk with a guide to the adjoining forest (Tala) on one of the afternoons. Our favoirite spot here was their tree house where we sat enjoying our evening. We planned to rent their bikes and visit the nearby village, but the rains foiled our plans. After a memorable three nights of stay we headed ahead to Khajuraho.
